Is it dangerous to smoke with ADHD? #ADHD

Thank you for your hard work in our struggling society.
Do you think you can quit smoking?

Which is harder to quit, drinking or smoking?

I just started a thread like this, and most people answered "drinking is harder", but what do you guys think?

I want to talk to people with ADHD.
I'd like to know if most of the people in the previous thread said that drinking is harder, whereas most of the people here say that smoking is harder.

I don't think you're going to get that kind of pinpoint here.

>>
I'm pretty sure the smoking rate for ADHD is something like 40%.
I'd like to actually hear you guys talk about it.

>> 40% of adult ADHDers are smokers, higher than 28% of normal people, and they start smoking at an earlier age.
Quote.

Didn't you like black coffee and strong green tea as a kid?

I have Adhd, but I don't smoke.
I feel like coffee and alcohol accelerate my mental health.

I've got a pinpointed burn.

I have ADHD and I smoke a cigar every day.
The kind that gives you a buzz that makes you dizzy.
Cigars are good for moisture, and I can put them out and light them up again later.

In the end, it's a dopamine deficiency.
Booze and cigarettes both give me dopamine.
And Concerta and Strattera are for dopamine, right?

>>
I like cigars.
I don't think I'll be smoking again for a while.

There's a high rate of smoking among schizophrenics.
There's a theory that smoking helps relieve the symptoms of schizophrenia.

I'm not schizophrenic.

I used to drink like an alcoholic.
But when I started taking Strattera.
I lost my appetite, and my desire to drink gradually decreased, and I don't drink as much anymore.

If I didn't have alcohol, I wouldn't drink at all.
I smoked cigarettes for about 20 years, but after the corona, I started to feel a tightness in my stomach every time I smoked, so I quit smoking.
It's been four months since I quit smoking, and I still have moments when I feel like smoking.

I guess it's how I started smoking.
They say that when you start smoking iQOS, you start to smell like paper cigarettes, but when I went back to my regular paper cigarettes after smoking iQOS for a day, I felt the smell of cigarettes for the first time in a long time, and it was so good.

I started smoking because I like the smell of cigarettes, so I probably won't quit smoking unless something really bad happens.

For now.
Two people who don't want to quit, including me.
One person who is having a hard time quitting
One who's never smoked.

I wonder if drinking gives you a dopamine rush.
Maybe it does if you're drinking and doing something fun.

Alcohol is a downer drug, if you ask me.
I think it's the upper type of drug that we get addicted to and can't stop once we try it.

I think alcohol and nicotine both produce dopamine.

This reward system is ADHD weak.
I think he wants to use alcohol and nicotine to get the dopamine out of his system.

>>
That's right.
Well, I've been drinking too much lately and it's just been making me sick, so I guess I'll have a good time when I have a drink for the first time in a while.

So I'll ask the ADHD people out there again.
Which is harder, quitting drinking or smoking?

>>
I can't compare the two because I don't think I'm going to quit either.
I smoke cigarettes every day, but some days I don't drink, so maybe drinking isn't as hard for me.

I had a harder time quitting drinking.
I haven't smoked a cigarette or cigar in a week or so.

But generally speaking, cigarettes are harder to quit.
Nakajima and others wrote that you can fool yourself into thinking you're drinking if you eat something else, but there's no way to fool yourself into thinking you're smoking.

It's so varied.
Do you guys all have medical certificates?

>>
I have a certificate and a notebook.

You can't get medicine without a diagnosis.
I get my meds from my doctor.
I'm an alcoholic, so it's harder for me to stop drinking.

If I drink something, I end up drinking every day for a month or so.

I don't go to the hospital or anything for the booze.
One day I just decided to quit, and I haven't had a drink since.

I get Concerta from my doctor.
They don't give me any sobriety pills.

I stopped drinking when I went back to the country because I was depressed and I was prescribed Strattera (Atomoxetine).

Nowadays, I can stop drinking at any time.

Well, if you're an alcoholic, I don't think you should drink.
I used to drink so much that I really thought alcohol was going to kill me until I stopped.

I don't know which is worse for you.
I don't know which is more harmful to the body, but an alcoholic really can't do everyday things.
